I was a truck driver in the late -’70’s in the Philadelphia region, delivering plants and boxed flowers to retailers. The emblematic song of the time for me was Baker Street — so bittersweet. I drove my airconditioned truck with great stereo speakers up and down eastern PA and western NJ. Yes, that sax was so expressive. And those melancholic lyrics captured a mood. I am sorry his lyrics about the booze came way too close to home for him. Thank you, Gerry. RIP.

Reply: I was 19 in Vermont and remember this great tune while driving in the summer. Baker Street takess me right back. -PG
