Historic October Snowfall Ignores Global Warming

Historic October Snowstorm Still Crushing New England

A historic October snowstorm is still crushing New England with heavy snow and howling winds before cruising away into Atlantic Canada.

Snow amounts have already topped two feet across portions of New England, while record-shattering snow hammered the major Northeast cities from Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia to New York City and Hartford, Ct…Keep reading…

I like Roy W. Spencer’s take on it all….. “For those tracking the daily global temperature updates at the Discover website, you might have noticed the continuing drop this month in global temperatures. …..I just thought it was an interesting curiosity during a time when some pundits are claiming global warming is “accelerating”. Apparently, they are still stuck in the last millennium. “

    a) Evil corporations cause AGW via CO2. They didn’t want any. Nature complied.
    b) Cooling is proof of AGW. The evil corporations used the weather weapon.

You can’t make this up: does anyone remember the words Marie Antoinette was (in)famous for? – “…let them eat cake!” (“S’ils n’ont pas de pain, vous fait-on dire, qu’ils mangent de la brioche!”):

“At the White House, President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle did not let the weather ruin their annual Halloween trick-or-treating event. They handed out candy, cookies and dried fruit to area children wrapped in wet coats.
“Let’s give out some candy,” Obama said. “I know it’s cold. … It’s not ideal out here.”

The way that I heard it; Marie was giving sound financial advice. A heavy tax had been imposed on bread, but did not apply to cake.

But you know how people are when they’re upset. They lose their heads.

After the OWS people have learned the basic tenets of capitalism (working groups who manage to beggar some money from passers-by must give up 70% “tax” to the main accounters and fill out paperwork to get back some of the money for their purposes; chefs staged a walk-out, protesting against having to feed “freeloaders”, i.e. homeless people), they now also learn to WORK for their electricity: After the generators have been confiscated, they had to get some bike power generators. At 1:00 in this video:

They learn fast. I expect them to develop the concept of simple barter trade around Christmas.

Yes but here in Europe have been quite warmth all this autumn, 11 degrees Celsius now in Norway when the average is 2 degrees…

Mankind starts to eradicate Dengue Fever. Predictably, Der Spiegel starts its article with the headline “Critics condemn tests with suicide mosquito”.

    http://www.spiegel.de/wissenschaft/medizin/0,1518,794928,00.html

…because, no matter the saved lives, there MIGHT be effects on the ecosystem!
In its typical language-twisting manner, Der Spiegel of course takes no position on its own but by starting the article with this statement they show their true colours nevertheless; they could have started by pointing out the enormous health benefits for the people.

Acticists managed to stop the first trial three years ago. To the chagrin of the death-loving leftists at Der Spiegel, Oxitec, the company who developed the GM mosquito, succeeded in performing the test somewhere else.

Progress against Death; Der Spiegel takes the side of Death.

I remember visiting Germany in the 1990’s and saw some of the make-work schemes in the East that included de-contamination of the soil (actually looked more like mining a resource the way it was all carted off to a few selected “processing centres”) and “returning it to nature”; often by fabricating a “biotope”; a stagnant pond with introduced reeds, etc.

Which may be cute but the regions were previously (before 1900), ravaged by insect-borne disease.

There were many reasons why Fritz had the vast wetlands between Brunswick and Berlin drained. It wasn’t just to make arable land, but to get rid of the pesky insects and the diseases some people then thought were caused by the insects; and make way for more people to live in the region.

Malaria wasn’t uncommon. Even during the LIA.

As predicted, IPCC is now publically attempting to get credibility by tying its science to extreme weather events . As things cool down and global cooling takes place, their scam will be evident for all to see . The cold and winter will become so evident that no one will buy their false science. Here is a quote from a news clipping from our local newspaper on the extreme events and global warming claim

” Adraft summary of an international scientific report says the extremes caused by global warming could eventually grow so severe that some locations could become “increasingly marginal as places to live.”

The report from the Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change marks a change in climate science, from focusing on subtle shifts in average temperatures to concentrating on the harder-to-analyze freak events that grab headlines, hurt economies and kill people.

“The extremes are a really noticeable aspect of climate change,” said Jerry Meehl, senior scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. “I think people realize that the extremes are where we are going to see a lot of the impacts of climate change.”

I just wanted to point out that this this latest IPCC draft release is another example of numerous “draft ” reports , and technical papers being rushed through and released without proper venting or peer review[ like the Prof. MULLER and BEST papers ] prior to the DURBAN meeting . The public gets the information with all the errors in them and very few media outlets publish the corrections later when they are found with proper oversight .

    1. Ulrich Elkmann

And this despite the fact that by now well nigh everybody who can think for him- or herself is connected to the web and can check out the quality of their reporting. Either they are incapable of doing good journalism or they are past caring. My impression is that even erstwhile “quality media” like German public television or newspapers like F.A.Z. or Der Spiegel rank about the same as former communist propaganda outlets. Half of what they print or broadcast may technically be correct, and some bits may even be relevant – but why bother to find out?

      1. DirkH

You’re right, but half of my colleagues (in the various companies I find myself in; I have a large sample size) do not care and believe everything Der Spiegel says, and repeat its talking points when I argue with them.

It’s like in the Matrix; they haven’t woken up yet. They’re living in warmist fantasy world. The MSM are the creators of this fantasy world; not conveyors of information. News are a fairytale.

That sounds strange, right? Well, I have reasons to say it. IF the MSM or Der Spiegel would be interested in explaining AGW to their readers, they would surely point out that most of the greenhouse effect is caused by water vapor, right? So just go and ask any normal person who believes in AGW as told by the MSM about this; let him guess the most important GHG. I have never gotten the correct answer from anyone in my real life; not even from that one boss who was a Greenpeace member and ardent warmist. They have all their facts wrong because they get their facts from the mainstream media.

        1. DirkH

The fairytale is a morality tale; there needs to be good and evil. Good is usually the underdog, as we humans sympathize with the underdog, and who else could that be but helpless natives. Evil must therefore always be the all-powerful industrial civilisation.

The details don’t matter and are interchangeable; CO2, CFCs, nuclear reactors, you name it.

That is how Der Spiegel and all the rest of them construct the frame for the story. There are heroes – James Hansen or Barack Obama – and wrongdoers – usually the wrongdoers conspire; Big Oil and the skeptics.

There’s a league of immaculate virtue; a force against the evil conspirators – the UN. And so on and so on… simple mythmaking.

OT (but fits as a piece of the merging mosaic):
NASA kills off manned space flight? Old news with the cancellation of the Orion/Constellation program.
Now Obama kills off all space exploration. Period.

    1. DirkH

He’s taking NASA hostage, holds a knife to its throat and threatens to stab if the GOP doesn’t agree on some kind of tax hike, that’s all. Let’s see if it gets him anything, I doubt it.
