Some of you may be wondering what happened to the video clip of Prof. Dronskowski which I had put up 2 days ago. This video was first put up by our friends at Science Skeptical here.
Unfortunately some Green thugs are still unable to learn tolerance and the lessons of history, and felt they had to threaten and harrass “thought criminals” who dare to question the Greens’ uncompromising vision of the future. Rudolf Kipp, who runs the Science Skeptical blog, had to take the video down. He left his reason as a reader comment (emphasis added):
For those of you who wonder where the video has gone. Remember, this is still Germany. We tolerate everyone’s right to free speech, so long as he shares our opinion…I have put the video off-line since the lecturer has been molested by mails and defamation and has received anonymous phone calls in private and his family has been affected as well.”
For those of you inclined to dissent, let Dronskowski be an example to you. Keep marching in lockstep – don’t ask questions, or else.
This is not the Germany I’ve come to know over the last 20+ years. I wonder what is becoming of the country. Dissenters are being labelled criminals. Professors can no longer speak up. Who can remember the last time this was so?
My view is that these green thugs are hardly different than the brown crap who allegedly murdered a number of Turks whose only crime was to dare to live a different culture in Germany. Germany’s intelligence services sat on their thumbs, not taking the threat seriously, read here. Obviously they are also not taking the threat of the greenshirts seriously either.
And some say we are living in an age of enlightenment. Well, all this is starting to enlighten me.

Prof. Dronskowski has upset the true believers.
The good news is that the warmist greenie movement seems to be in total panic. If the IPCC was founded on proven science they would just laugh at skeptics. Stephen Schneider stated that climatology was not a falsifiable science. Very convenient for crafting propaganda but it bites back when you try to take over the world with it.
Donna Laframboise has caused more than a little foaming at the mouth with her book and she doesn’t even address the science. We have to hope that the political momentum has been lost for the IPCC.

Actually, Michael Krüger put the video online without asking the Prof. Dronskowski’s permission first – which probably would not have been granted anyway, since the professor must know by now that he was talking rubbish..
What Kipp and Krüger now write about the goings-on are most likely only assertions that they make in order to appear innocent.
What reason should anyone have to attack Dronskowski? The professor might have changed his mind in the meantime – which is quite likely as he is a scientist and definitely able to correct past mistakes – bearing in mind that the lecture in question was given almost exactly two years ago.
We only have Krüger’s and Kipp’s word that the professor was “threatened and harrassed by Greens”, but – as experience shows – they are not very trustworthy and more than once have reverted to what they may consider to be a white lie but in reality is the exact opposite of the truth.
The only persons to blame in the matter are Krüger and Kipp who put up the video in the first place without having Dronskowski’s consent. It is quite obvious that Dronskowski made them retract the video, and he is probably quite irate about the breach of his copyright.
Before you continue to speculate you should try and get the information directly from Dronskowski or just remain tacit about the matter.

You are speculating yourself. A lot of “might”s, “probably”s, and do we have a “likely”? Ah yeah, there’s the “likely”:

Oh, and BTW, I have yet to see a skeptic being converted to the flakey, shaky grounds of CAGW science. Muller never was a skeptic so he doesn’t count. Makes you wonder why this never happens. Maybe because all your evidence consists of computer animations? 🙂

The difference being that I do not pretend to know something that only Prof. Dronskowski and one or two others know about.
But having known both Krüger and Kipp for a couple of years I know that I cannot trust them. They have lied far too often.

Well, go across to readers-edition and start reading a few of the many articles that both have published there and see how they respond to criticism. Then you will know exactly what I mean.

But to spell it out, for the sake of making the argument clear:
From what can be seen, as of now, it looks like a clear case of censorship, of applying pressure to an outspoken sceptic. The distortions of fact, the slanders and insinuations, including implied threats of physical violence (to give an example: the notorious 10:10 campaign), the refusals to adhere to the tenets of science, have been notorius during the last years.
It’s also clear that the support for the Climate Scare scenario is dwindling rapidly, that its arguments, such as they were, have been completely falsified and that both the politicians and the public are wising up to that fact – as well as the economic costs of the measures that have been implemented using the Scare. Germany is, basically, the last bastion where the “narrative” of GAGW is still supported by the whole range mass media and has not been questioned once in the political arena. An outspoken dismissal of the AGW scenario, especially by an Professor in Chemistry or Physics, i.e. someone who can be trusted to know about the scientific aspects (and unlikely to “just change his mind” every two years about how nature works just because we now are in 2011 instead of 2009), might be reason enough to put pressure of that person and harrass him. It may well be that Prof. Dronskowski has retracted the video because of breach of copyright; but, given the past inclinations and actions of the AGW camp, one would like to have some more substantial proof than your “I know these guys and they are habitual liars” (BTW: you might do well to see that you can prove your statement “I cannot trust them. They have lied far too often”: Over here, you can be sued for defamatory statements.)

Good observations Pierre. Worrisome development in Germany. Just recently there were also discoveries of murders perpetuated by the neo-Nazis. As the world expands, as diversity expands, intolerance in some places also expands, which should not be the case.

You seem to suffer from a severe case of wishful thinking. Do you really think reality is subject to your desires?
Quite the opposite of what you claim is true: the AGW deniers are losing out, their numbers are dwindling, mostly because of old age, since not many young and sober people fall for their trash.
Have you ever heard of “eike” = “Europäisches Institut für Klima und Energie”?
They are the laughing-stock of Germany – well, as far as anybody does take any notice of them.
The blogworld and many websites are full of kinky claims made by the deniers, alas, real science can do much better without them. And this is not very likely to change – ever!
