German journalist and climate activist Franz Alt delivers climate policy map that supposedly will bring salvation to humanity and the planet.

German ultra-alarmist climate and energy site klimareporter here has posted a road map outline of what alarmists say has to be done in order to rescue the planet from the approaching climate Armageddon (the one that keeps getting postposed every 10 years).

Dubbed “The 12 Commandments To Stop Global Heating”, the one-page plan authored by leading climate activist Franz Alt at first glance may appear to be Germany’s version of a Green New Deal, but it goes far beyond that. While Alexandria Ocasio Cortez’s Green New Deal is a shallow-thought laundry list of actions written by a group of activist sophomores having pizza one evening, Franz Alt’s deal could serve as one of the cornerstones of the coming Green Religion.

“The ecological Jesus”

It’s little wonder that someone like Alt is taking on this role. According to Wikipedia, Alt made ecology an extension of his Christian faith over his long career, even authoring a book titled: “Der ökologische Jesus“, in English: The ecological Jesus.

I’ve summed up Alt’s “The 12 Commandments To Stop Global Heating” in English.

The 12 Holy Climate Commandments

1. Thou shall roll back greenhouse gases to zero by 2050!

2. Thou shall permit only renewable energy power plants – beginning immediately!

3. Thou shall permit and register only electric cars beginning in 2025!

4. Thou shall permit only CO2-free industrial complexes and plants beginning in 2025!

Trains and wooden high rises

5. Thou shall reduce meat consumption by two thirds, which will lead to good health!

6. Thou shall build much more public transport and use online conferences (Exception: Climate Conferences and Green Synods)!

7. Thou shall use less land for houses, streets and industry and build zero-CO2-emission high-rises made of wood!

Greening the deserts, planting 1000 billion trees

8.Thou shall make the deserts green and plant 1000 billion trees around the globe!

9. Thou shall elect only Green, climate-protecting officials. Greenocracy instead of democracy. And thou may vote for whom you wish (so long as they’re Green)!

Depopulate

10. Poor nations shall not “be fruitful and multiply”, but rather shall depopulate!

11. Thou shall buy less, and travel by bicycle – or by foot!

12. Thou shall live simply, so that it shall be simpler to live! Thou shall think more, and thou shall resist stupidity and short-sightedness!

Readers of course may scoff at this and dismiss it as senseless rantings of an old man who has gone senile. Yet keep in mind what history tells us: Religions are never created overnight, rather they evolve and refine over generations with scholars putting the pieces together.

Readers should not kid themselves, the Green Religion is coming.

That Dalai Lama sure is a good judge of character, …no?

For those who don’t recognize the fellow with the Dalai Lama, it’s Shoko Asahara.

If you like obeying orders this green religion is perfect.
My only concern is will push bike tyres be allowed!

Since there hasn’t been any “global heating” for more than two decades these commandments are stupid.

I have no problem with people like Mr Alt living in a fantasyland if he wants to, so long as he doesn’t force the rest of us to live in it with him.

dismiss it as senseless rantings of an old man who has gone senile

Ageism! When I lament about old (senile) men in the ranks of climate skeptics you don’t like it, but here you do it yourself? I find that rather interesting …

    10. Poor nations shall not “be fruitful and multiply”, but rather shall depopulate!

One example of a very creative translation of yours here … what is your goal? Employing willful misinterpretation that can easily be found out as a strategy to bring your followers in line behind you? Looks more like a religion to me than anything that “alarmist” website wrote.

I am certainly not kidding myself. The climate skepticism practised here IS very similar to religious beliefs. You do not question yourselves, instead everyone else is perceived as liars and you think you hold the truth about what is going on without any shred of evidence supporting what you think is really happening. If that’s not a religion, what else is it?

    1. Bruce of Newcastle

Seb – The climate religion is fascinating. Many articles around if you look. Not only is CAGW based entirely on belief, it has food laws, asceticism, heretics (like me), priests or more accurately druids, and a millenialist end-days apocalypse.

Chesterton said “When men choose not to believe in God, they do not thereafter believe in nothing, they then become capable of believing in anything.” The climate religion is a strange secular proof of this hypothesis.

We sceptics understand that climate is driven by more than just CO2. There are several significant variables: ocean cycles, solar modulation of cloud cover, UHIE and land use changes and others. We seek to understand the relative contributions. From what I can see the Sun and the ocean cycles caused about 85% of the warming last century. Thus CO2 is not especially important, which is why there hasn’t been any real world warming for a couple decades (except in climateer computers).

      1. SebastianH

Seb – The climate religion is fascinating.

It’s science, inventing things and claiming everything others claim to know is fake anyways is religious.

Not only is CAGW based entirely on belief

        It’s not.

        it has food laws, asceticism

        Nope.

        heretics (like me)

Ignorance doesn’t result in being a “heretic”.

        priests or more accurately druids

        Nope.

        and a millenialist end-days apocalypse.

        Not really.

What you are doing is letting your imagination run freely and come up with a fantasy of what you claim to be against.

Chesterton said “When men choose not to believe in God, they do not thereafter believe in nothing, they then become capable of believing in anything.” The climate religion is a strange secular proof of this hypothesis.

Unrefutable logic I guess … *sigh*

We sceptics understand that climate is driven by more than just CO2.

Everyone knows that and do you know why you know that? Because of climate science existing.

There are several significant variables: ocean cycles, solar modulation of cloud cover, UHIE and land use changes and others.

        Yes, captain obvious.

We seek to understand the relative contributions.

That’s what the whole field is about, yeah.

From what I can see the Sun and the ocean cycles caused about 85% of the warming last century.

And that’s the problem of skepticism like you practise it. You are not the least bit skeptic about your own beliefs even though they are the opposite of accepted science.

Thus CO2 is not especially important, which is why there hasn’t been any real world warming for a couple decades (except in climateer computers).

And then you come to conclusions which aren’t supported by science and even make a claim that couldn’t be farther from reality with a hint of you believing everything is fake in parantheses.

So what you are doing is ignoring the evidence, instead claim everyone else is wrong and the world is how you see it. Isn’t that what religious people do? Think about it 😉

        1. Bruce of Newcastle

I’m amused Seb that you went to all this effort without once addressing the data I’d given. Is that anything like “ignoring the evidence”?

      2. tom0mason

        Spot-on Bruce!
        🙂

      3. Yonason

        @Bruce of Newcastle

        PEAK SUPERFICIALITY

        Another good quote:
One of the great things about being a leftist is that you don’t really need to proceed often beyond extremely superficial thinking to feel good about yourself and your cause.”
        https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/03/civil-war-on-the-left-ch-66-peak-superficiality.php

Has that guy got SebH pegged, or what!

The troll accuses you of “ignoring evidence,” when he NEVER presents any himself. Bluff and bluster is all he ever has.

    2. Yonason

      HE JUST CAN’T HELP HIMSELF

“When I lament about old (senile) men in the ranks of climate skeptics you don’t like it,…” – SebH the offended

What is he offended by? We’ll, this is what he quotes from the article. “dismiss it as senseless rantings of an old man who has gone senile”

As usual, SebH is using a strawman argument. No one called the eco-fascists senile. If you look at the quote in context, you see that the author is cautioning the reader NOT to dismiss the religious zealot as “senile.” See here…

Readers of course may scoff at this and dismiss it as senseless rantings of an old man who has gone senile. Yet keep in mind what history tells us: Religions are never created overnight, rather they evolve and refine over generations with scholars putting the pieces together.”

I repeat. The article does NOT say what SebH implies that it does. It is in fact warning the reader AGAINST doing what SebH is accusing him of.

The activist troll has been caught in yet another of his incessant lies.

I have just finished a book called ‘Grain Brain’ by D Perlmutter who requires us to give up grains and eat meat. He seems to think that grain diets actually shrink the brain size.
Meat and fat fuel the human body and brain. I don’t eat grains anyway so it seems good to me!

  7. Yonason

There is NO CAUSAL LINK between CO2 and temperature.

And yet there are activists who want modern society to be destroyed based on what is no more than a paranoid fantasy. If they succeed, it will make the carnage of the last century look like a walk in the park.

I do not think it is unreasonable to classify those who advocate for global suicide as criminally insane.

    1. SebastianH

There is NO CAUSAL LINK between CO2 and temperature.

Yes there is, and the physics about this mechanism are well known for quite some time now.

And yet there are activists who want modern society to be destroyed

      Nobody wants that.

If they succeed, it will make the carnage of the last century look like a walk in the park.

What kind of strategy is this fear mongering of yours?

I do not think it is unreasonable to classify those who advocate for global suicide as criminally insane.

Good, we all know who is advocating for “global suicide” here …

      1. Yonason

        BY WAY OF ILLUSTRATION

        (a) – “There is NO CAUSAL LINK between CO2 and temperature.

Yes there is, and the physics about this mechanism are well known for quite some time now.”

No, there isn’t. That’s why when they calculate what the temps should be they turn out to be wrong. (see the Dr. Christy video I linked above)
        ____
        (b) – “And yet there are activists who want modern society to be destroyed

        Nobody wants that.”

        Yes, they do.

I’ve addressed his other screwy criticisms in other posts.

As spike55 would say, he’s totally empty, bankrupt of any facts or sensible ideas. Just activist dreck is all he has.

Let us start with resist stupidity and short-sightedness, then forget al other points listed. If you roll back ‘green house gases’ to zero, nothing will grow anymore. Without food population will collapse. Your newly planted trees will all die. Only renewable energy powerplants will create an inmens shortage of energy.
How can you power electric cars without the power? and on and on. This is just stupidity!

    1. SebastianH

Let us start with resist stupidity and short-sightedness, then forget al other points listed. If you roll back ‘green house gases’ to zero, nothing will grow anymore. […]

Please apply your first sentence to the rest of your comment. Thank you.

      This is just stupidity!

Yes it is. Thank you for this great example.

In case you don’t understand, there will always be GHGs in the atmosphere. And renewable power plants do not cause energy shortages, why would they?

  9. bonbon

Odd that nothing is said by “scholars” here about the ARC – Prince Philip’s Alliance for Religion and Conservation – which hailed Pope Francis’s climate change encyclical Laudato Si, as “something very extraordinary in the journey to link religions with conservation and conservation with religions.”

This goes way back to the WWF, Martin Palmer being His Highness’ High Priest of the “new” religion. The Dalai Lama used to be a poster boy, until he apparently supported nuclear. Prince Philip is well known to favor reincarnation as a deadly virus to depopulate (direct quote).

Interesting how citizens of a republic follow a royal imperative – nothing new there at all.

      1. bonbon

With a Royal Blessing. Somehow parallel to ISIS with a Royal Saudi Blessing. Not at all surprising, I would think. These religions are fundamentalist anti-science.

And scientists who have not done their homework do a Light Brigade charge, and wonder what happened.
