German Public Television Editor, Green Party Leader Calling For A Little Dictatorship To Solve The ‘Climate Crisis’

For the perceived destruction of the planet, angry teenage activist Greta Thunberg puts the blame on economic growth and capitalism. Yet she doesn’t talk much about any alternative system that could provide for our needs.

The question arises: Is it even possible for human society to progress without economic growth?

An ecological Chinese-style global economy

One chief editor at German WDR public television thinks it is possible: People will just have to get used to austerity.

In an interview, Ulrich Ueckerseifer told the WDR that it would be possible for a global economy to function without growth “in the form of a managed market economy, for example. In a nutshell: a bit like China, but ecologically”.

Ueckerseifer said to do this there would have to be very strong targets and limits and that “no more environmental pollution would be allowed to be produced”.

Learning to go without

The WDR chief business editor said this would require “a high level of willingness on the part of the population to do without.”

Dictatorship “the most socially just”

A growing number of activists and political leaders are seeing growth and sustainability as being incompatible, and many are calling for a system of rigid regulation. For example, German Green Party leader Annalena Baerbock sees regulatory measures as a central element for better climate protection.

According to German weekly FOCUS here: “Yes, for me regulatory law is the central element, because it is also the most socially just. This is also the instrument in environmental policy that has always helped us,” Baerbock told Deutschlandfunk radio.

How nice. All our climate “problems” can be solved – with just a little bit of dictatorship!

Already again authoritarian ideas and dreams are in vogue in the German political discourse.

    Can you say 2nd Amendment

If anybody actually cared the green parties would be in power across the world.

  3. Shoki Kaneda

This seems to be an inherent German trait.

There is no such thing as “a little dictatorship.” As we saw last century, when the paperhanger promised a short term dictatorship which he promised to end when the problems were fixed, it didn’t end, but got hellishly worse.

PS – I do hope the German people are smart enough to not fall for that AGAIN, …for their sakes and that of the world.

A German dictatorship this time around would be exceedingly weak… although Hitler was a Greenie himself, the Greens of today are all about depopulation and deindustrialization. The majority of Germans support Green policies. But a depopulated/ deindustrialized nation with a Dark Ages agenda would soon fall apart and not able to mount much of a military force sufficient to threaten anyone. The German military today is a shriveled shadow… a real joke.

Watch Brexit carefully – behind all the smoke and mirrors (lot’s of popcorn recommended) the European Defense Union goes ahead full steam – Ex-Defense Minister, now EU Commissioner, Ursula said it clearly recently.
That means central command for all EU nominally national military.
That means the EU will try to gain control of nuclear deterrence. Whether that would happen remains to be seen.

Still one can sympathize – the establishment parties are tearing themselves to pieces and some say that is the best way to open the door to dictatorship. One needs only a Reichstagbrand – anyone remember 9/11 ?

After Hitler rightly named Napoleon his predecessor, and then attacked East, the pattern is clear. Just look at the support of well known figures for the Kiev putsch. When President Trump spoke to Zelenskiy all hell broke loose as the entire “Drang nach Osten” balloon burst.

So a “little bit of dictatorship” with an EU Defense Union is the game.

By the way, our old “friend” Hans Joachim Schellnhuber was supposed to be able to access a government position. Did this happen ? Or will it happen in a near future ?

There are many who would fawn at Dr. John Schellnhuber’s Royal title, CBE, Commander of the British Empire.
Imagine, our very own James Bond!

It seems some TV editors are up to date on the BIS, Bank of International Settlements, “regime change” action plan.
    https://www.bis.org/press/p190926.htm

An unelected commitee of experts deciding what gov’ts can invest in. From Blackrock LLP, the giant hedhge fund, money printing Über Alles.

Considering BIS chief Hjalmar Schacht was Hitler’s economics minister, no real surprise there. Schacht is known as the icon of austerity, i.e. labor camps.

Have TV editors done even a little bit of homework?

Looks like the Greens and Bernie are in bed with the BIS :

“The initiative is part of the BIS’s broader commitment to
supporting environmentally responsible finance and investment
practices, in line with the Bank’s participation in the Central
Banks and Supervisors Network for Greening the Financial System.
Commenting on the launch, Peter Zöllner, Head of the BIS Banking
Department, said: `We are confident that, by aggregating the
investment power of central banks, we can influence the behavior
of market participants and have some impact on how green
      investment standards develop.'”

Is this what reguation means, I wonder.

“BIS chief Hjalmar Schacht was Hitler’s economics minister” – bonbon

Well, that calls for some investigation.

    Oh. Here’s an interesting tidbit…

“His father had lived in the United States and named his son after the radical journalist, Horace Greeley and a prominent campaigner in America against slavery.”

Let’s take an irony meter reading, shall we…

    Ooops. Third one this week.

The BIS was founded in 1930, by Bank of England chief Montagu Norman and his close friend Hjalmar Schacht, the former president of the Reichsbank, known as the father of the Nazi economic miracle. Schacht even referred to the BIS as ‘my’ bank. The BIS is a unique hybrid: a commercial bank protected by international treaty. Its assets can never be seized, even in times of war. It pays no taxes on profits.

Today we have Mark Carney, BofE chief, proclaiming the end of the dollar, and a global SHC, Synthetic Hegemonic Currency, for unlimited strictly green financing.
All that started well before Greta, F4F an’ all that.

In the UK, the Chancellor of the Exchequer has given a speech to the Conservative Party conference outlining plans for growth, each segment got a mandatory clap until he mentioned climate change policies.

About 25 minutes in. Absolute silence when he paused for the clap.

    1. Yonason

      Thanks, Mick J.

It’s about time they are exposed to what real people think about their screwy ideas. I just hope they get the message.
