Berlin 300-Year Station Shows Temperatures Were Just As Warm In The Mid 1700s – No CO2 Fingerprint

One of Europe’s oldest temperature series goes back 300 years: Berlin-Dahlem.

Readers will note the mean temperatures were warmer than they are today. The 1990s and 2000s were similarly warm as they were in the mid 1700s.

Moreover, the long-term trend was downward from 1760 to 1990, despite atmospheric CO2 having risen since 1850.

    There must be some UHI in Dahlem. Any estimates how much?

    Pierre – Please don’t tell the Australian Bureau of Meteorology about this – they will want to adjust this data to show that temperatures were cooler in the past….

    I don’t understand this, a typo?

    The graph suggests the Little Ice Age CONTINUES at Berlin Dahlem.

    That will cause alarmists’ heads to explode;-}

    What are the trends at other European sites that have data for approximately the same time span?

    No, the downward trend ended in 1800, there was no trend 1800-1950. And the increase in CO2 since 1850 was probably too small to have significant impact on temparatures, as global temperatures depend on other factors as well. Anyway, keep believing in what you want to believe, just move to some other Earth to keep it warm.
