NASA’s Fudge Factory: Goddard Institute For Space Studies Fudges The Data Again!

By Kirye
and Pierre Gosselin

It’s well known that the United States suffered severe drought and record high temperatures back in the 1930s, which we know resulted in the famous Dust Bowl and economic hardship across North America.

But now, from a climate point of view, that period has become an embarrassment to the scientists who propose the anthropogenic global warming theory. Atmospheric CO2 concentrations were much lower back then, and so according to their theory,  it should have been cooler than it is today. But it wasn’t.

But instead of questioning CO2’s role in driving global temperature, NASA GISS has decided to just rewrite the historical data so that it fits their flakey theory. This of course is scientific fraud.

Today we examine NASA GISS data for the Wellsboro station in Pennsylvania. First we look at the Version 4 “unadjusted” annual mean temperature data and compare it to the new Version 4 “homogenized” data:

Data: NASA GISS

Above we see how NASA scientists simply went back in the old datasets and simply rewrote them so that the hot years of the early 20th century are cooled tremendously – by over two degrees in many years.

Earlier Wellsboro saw a cooling trend. But now since NASA scientists have fiddled with the data, the trend has been forged to fit the AGW theory.

Next is a chart comparing version 3, which starts in 1883 and ends in 2019, to Version 4, which starts in 1882:

Version 4 data source: NASA GISS, Version 3 here.

The earlier Version 3 also showed cooling before NASA rewrote the data and wiped it out. The current Version 4 used to show cooling, but was that too was tampered with and now it shows strong warming.

Many would argue that this is not science, but outright Orwellian scientific fraud.

I wouldn’t call it fudging. Fudge is soft, gooey and delicious. NASA GISS is none of those.

Another post showing that the old weather reports are useful for historical purposes, while the digital versions are not fit for climate studies.

You start by mentioning the 1930s and the Dust Bowl years.
There were also winds and cold along the entire north-to-south plains.
A good account is told by Timothy Egan in “The Worst Hard Time: The Untold Story of Those Who Survived the Great American Dust Bowl”.

Wellsboro, the place of this posting, is in the tier of counties across north central Pennsylvania. This is a region known for its winter cold.
History is colorful across this region because it was open to the south via the Susquehanna River. Wellsboro was an early center as was Wyalusing, on the east side of the River. Five miles up a tributary from Wyalusing is Camptown, source of the Stephen Foster song Camptown Races (1850).

Except you can put almost any city in here and see the same result. You can compare all the temp data for the US for this time person. Unadjusted vs adjusted and it shows exactly the same thing.

The author used this because of its connections to a scienctists comments.

Also if it is famous for cold winters what does that matter? Are you saying it is famous now but wasn’t back in the 30s?

        Jesse,
I don’t know why you seem upset.
I happen to be from the western edge of that area, have
relatives and friends there, and likely know a bit more
about it than the average NTZ reader.
Just trying to contribute. Did you know that in PA
the area is noted for its cold winters?
Have you read Timothy Egan’s book about the Dust Bowl?
How about the one on the Big Burn? That of 1910. Hot then also.
        Cheers. Stay safe.

NASA GISS fraudsters, again … Quelle surprise !

“Many would argue that this is not science, but outright Orwellian scientific fraud.”

As Eric Blair, aka George Orwell, wrote in 1984 —
“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

And that is the point. This is not just about ‘scientific fraud’, this is a process about control, mind control!
Change history, change the language, change scientific methods, teach the kids the new version, get generational animosity so that the state, not parents or religion, are seen and believed to be the saviors.

Control the past and thus control the future.
Do the changes incrementally with little things — a few temperature records that the majority of people don’t care about. Build from that small beginning, change people’s outlook about the climate, about energy, about manufacturing, about employment, wealth and happiness through broadcasting emotional sophistry and lies.
Ensure that the language keeps changing, make older and harsher but more accurately descriptive words and phrases become politically, socially ‘incorrect’ to use.

All the time ostracise, censor, and deplatform the neigh-sayers through social engineering of sentiments against them. Silencing those tedious but rational types who can with clear eyes, look to scientific or historical facts and mathematics for evidence that counters the official truth.

Then move to unrest some of the populous, and with them create a means to have statues, monuments, street names removed or renamed, to make them become more ‘socially acceptable’. Keep the violence just high enough, and the police held back, so that the rest of the population are cowed into obeying whatever the state requires.

Soon historical details will be rewritten with the some of the past made to look worse than it was, some historical ‘facts’ erased, and, for those events the elites wish celebrate, emphasised in a new, re-written archive of truth. And on it will go with no big fuss. Small discrete changes slowly taking over how people think, talk, write, and act.

And throughout always ensure that the new generation is taught the new version of the ‘official’ truth — keeping the inter-generational rift festering.

Welcome to our brave new world!

Such is the dangerous circularity of the rainbow cult, and its SOP of revisionism, scientivists pedalling their policy/ideology based ‘evidence’ replete with all the ‘isms’ implied by Rudi Dutschke reiteration of Gramsci’s long march through the institutions.
Nothing less than unethical, unscientific and corrupt these GISS ideologues must be deposed and incarcerated.

It’s not easy to sort out who adjusts what in the processing of the data after local weather authorities submit their records. With GISS v.4, it seems they are presenting what they get from NOAA, which includes land station data homogenized by GHCN. IMO the differences arise from the GHCN adjustments rather than GISS packaging. Somme years ago I did a study of this issue, and found that the best-sited US stations suffered from the same shifts in trends due to differences in the adjusted vs. unadjusted records.
