Fake Crisis: Experts Conclude In New Book “Today’s Climate Change Neither Dramatic Nor Unprecedented”

An objective look at the climate history throughout the Holocene shows that today’s warming is neither dramatic nor unprecedented.

Hat-tip: Die kalte Sonne

Germans Dr. Klaus-Petr Dahm, Detlef Laves and Wolfgang Merbach have written a new book on today’s climate change: “Der heutige Klimawandel: Eine kritische Analyse des Modells von der menschlich verursachten globalen Erwärmung (Mitteilungen Agrarwissenschaften)” (A Critical Analysis of the Human-Caused Global Warming Model (Communications Agricultural Sciences).

This volume 27 of the Mitteilungen Agrarwissenschaften (agricultural science reports) deals with today’s climate change and thus takes up a very topical issue.

In the public debate, current global warming – based on the anthropogenic global warming (AGW) model advocated by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) – is blamed almost exclusively on human activities, and in particular on the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2).

“Neither dramatic nor unprecedented”

Criticism of this hypothesis receives far less attention and is often viewed in a decidedly negative light. This booklet contains such a critical analysis. The authors use the Earth’s climate history to show that today’s climate change is neither dramatic nor unprecedented. Rather, it is a normal occurrence in our Holocene warm period within the Quaternary ice age period, which, like all past climate change events, can be attributed to natural causes (especially solar activity in conjunction with the hydrosphere).

    “Neither dramatic nor unprecedented”.
This is a lay observation, the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (2014) states that the warming of the atmosphere since 1950 was ‘unprecedented in the historical record’.
Even if that were true it be of little significance but it is not true, the warming over the 35 year period ~1910 – 1945 was faster than the warming of the same period after 1980.

“… like all past climate change events, can be attributed to natural causes …”.
Maybe but there is a temptation to fall into the fallacy of ‘affirming a disjunct’ i.e. ‘making the false assumption that when presented with an either/or possibility, that if one of the options is true that the other one must be false’.
It is not a matter of human or natural but human and natural, attribution would seem an impossible task as there is no independent control.

      This book is about —
“An objective look at the climate history throughout the Holocene shows that today’s warming is neither dramatic nor unprecedented. “

Not just the short term nonsense the IPCC pretends is climate but the “throughout the Holocene”, i.e. real climate.

While climate reconstructions can never be precise, when compared with satellite temperature measurements available since 1979, there is another way to analyze the global warming since the mid-1970s.

Roughly seven billion people were living during some, or all, of the global warming since the mid-1970s. And not one of them lived in the “average temperature”.

I can’t imagine many people would consider the past 45 years of mild warming to be “dramatic”, or harmful. I suspect most people would not have noticed the warming if not for climate alarmists predicting a coming climate crisis for the past 64 years. Getting louder and more hysterical every year.

“An objective look at the climate history” would require to take the published observations of A.J. Drummond in 1943 seriously and investigate thoroughly. The decisive findings are as follows:
    • “The present century has been marked by such a widespread tendency towards mild winters that the ‘old-fashioned winters’, of which one had heard so much, seemed to have gone forever”.
    • The sudden arrival at the end of 1939 of what was to be the beginning of a series of cold winters was therefore all the more surprising. (underline added)
    • “Never since the winters of 1878/79, 1879/80 and 1880/81 have there been in succession three so severe winters as those of 1939/40, 1940/41 and 1941/42.”
    • “Since comparable records began in 1871, the only other three successive winters as snowy as the recent ones (1939/40, 1940/41 1941/42) were those during the last war, namely 1915/16, 1916/17 and 1917/18…”

    Winter of 1948-49

Plenty of snow in Nebraska during the winter of ’49. Operation Snowbound and Operation Haylift to aid stranded Nebraskans and to save livestock had to be done, it was serious, critical needs had to be met. Food and heat, need both.

Snow was up to the cross members of power line poles. Trains were buried in snow.

For heaven’s sake! That’ll never sell.

Give it a snappier title, and change the cover. You need a picture of an underdressed blonde girl holding an enormous handgun, with a helicopter exploding in the background.
