Sea surface temperatures in the subpolar North Atlantic increased by nearly 1°C from 2015 to 2018 according to a new study (Desbruyères et al., 2021). As of 2020, this region is now almost as hot as it was in 2007, 1930, and 1890 (Birkel et al., 2018).

For an even longer-term perspective, it would appear this region is now colder than just about any other period in the last 7000 years (Orme et al., 2018).
Global warming is responsible for considerable amounts of cooling.
You all know it makes sense!!!
The ref~ to 1890 is interesting.
In North America there was a ‘great blizzard” in 1888.
