Climate History Researcher: Arctic Ice Sees 18-Year High For January 3rd…Also More Ice Than 100 Years Ago!

Arctic sea ice refuses to melt…there’s more ice today in some Arctic regions than 100 years ago.

Climate science skeptic rock star Tony Heller of realclimatecscience.com presents more inconvenient data on Arctic sea ice. Ice levels are perfectly within the normal range of the past 100 years.

Arctic sea ice data reaches 18-year high for January 3rd

First Tony presents the latest data on Arctic sea ice extent for this date.

“Arctic sea ice extent is the highest in 18 years,” reports the leading manmade global warming skeptic. “The global warming scam is collapsing in real time, even as the press and government ramp up the lies.”

Tony also points out: “Antarctica just had their coldest six months on record,” a fact the mainstream media and government agencies have done everything to keep a lid on.

More ice today than 100 years ago

Diving deep into the newspaper archives, Tony also discovered old articles dating 100 years ago and noted in his post last month that the Arctic back then had been warming rapidly and the area of Svalbard had even been ice free.

“But there is lots of ice around Svalbard now,” Tony shows:

Unfortunately Twitter has stopped Tony from presenting these embarrassing facts and deleted his account. But you can follow him at: https://gab.com/TonyHeller

When you only listen to the media, then you’ll wind wind up worrying about climate change. But when you look at the historical record and facts and compare them to today, then you’ll see things are pretty normal.

Ahh, yes. I remember the last time the ice extrnt got over the 18 year “climate avg” (lol). They changed they’re algorithm to bring it back into compliance with the narrative. As I recall, Kirye was posting on that back then, documenting the suspicious change.

I wonder if they’ll try it again?

It’s actually less ice, but looks like more ice because it has expanded in the extreme heat of Man Made Global Warming.

    great to hear more ice

Al Gore forgot that the sun doesn’t shine above the Arctic Circle during the winter months. Wake up and smell the coffee, Al.

I have to admit that global warming is welcomed this time of year, it is only -22 degrees F this morning instead of -29 or so.

Ice volume, not extent, is the critical measure here. Ice volume has declined by an estimated 75% in 5 decades.

Actually, DMI shows the sea ice volume smack on avg from about mid May to mid November of 2021, so no, it’s not declining. It’s variable, of course, as one might expect a chaotic dynamic system to be.

I prefer the DMI data and models because they live in that neighborhood. They can’t afford to be excessively theoretical, because their lives and livelihoods probably depend on getting it right, or at least less wrong than someone who doesn’t have as much skin in the game (I’m thinking shipping and fishing primarily).

I don’t think the DMI findings alter the fact of a long term downward trend that the UWashington link discusses. It’s a matter of short term noise and long term signal, which the UW report is citing.

The long term trend is definitely towards more sea ice.

There was far less than now for most of the last 10,000 years.

Currently in the top 5-10% over that period.

Actually, ice odor, not volume, is the critical measure here. The smell of the ice has decreased by 75% in 5 decades. It’s driving the polar bears nuts.

      1. Stephen

OMG, I think you just explained the reason that it has smelled so bad since Al Gore brought the world his truth. 75% decrease in ice odour explains why you have noticed the driven nuts of Polar Bears, the fragrance of coming into heat must be more noticeable explaining the rise in Polar Bear population. This must be the double heat growth that Catherine McKenna told us about during her days as environment minister, Arctic Heat rise twice as fast as other areas. Low ice odour brings about more heat fragrance so the bedrooms of Polar bears isa lot hotter.

Why are you the first to bring this model of warming Arctic feeling, MiloCrabtree you deserve a Knowbell prize on the rocks! Lack of ice odour very, very, very funny, thank you!
