Throughout the last 10,000 years there have globally been much warmer and more extensive iceless periods than observed in the modern era.

Cold periods – like warm periods – are driven by natural solar forcing mechanisms. The last of which was manifested in the 19th century.

The recent warming is part of a natural cycle, not a consequence of human activity.

I agree that we can say that ‘claims to the contrary are “not supported by the geological data”‘, but we do need to be careful. It may be that greenhouse gases (H2O in particular) are relevant to a degree very much less than touted. To state with certainty that they are not is not going to bridge the divide between climate zealots and more reasonable minds.
