A new study (Kumar et al., 2021) reports the “overall SST trend in the Weddell Sea is negative” since 1979 and this has occurred in tandem with “the expansion of SIE [sea ice extent].” Another new study (King et al., 2021) reports the oldest temperature stations in Antarctica show a cooling/non-warming trend since 1956.
Antarctica and the Southern Ocean sea ice extent surrounding it continue to defy the government-endorsed modeling that says “polar amplification” should dramatically amplify the global warming signal due to rising greenhouse gases

To me, this is the most damning evidence against CO2-driven temperatures. Antarctica is the ideal location to isolate the impact of CO2 on temperatures. Antarctica has no water vapor, no urban heat island effect, and constant albedo. It is a natural control for an experiment to isolate the impact of CO2 on temperature. Here is the data showing that CO2 simply hasn’t caused warming in Antarctica using the most accurate data available.

It is no natural control at all.
The interior is isolated from ocean influences to a very large extent especially in winter.
It is at an average altitude of 8000ft.
H2O is by far the most effective GHG ….. of which the interior of Antarctica in winter has the least on the planet at any time.
There is a negative GHE at work there in winter whereby the temperature in the upper troposphere can be warmer than surface air. Such that CO2 makes emission to space of LWIR more efficient.
This year the stratospheric vortex has been very intense (O3 hole bigger than some years as a result), keeeping air even more tightly confined there.
Surface winds surrounding the continent have strengthened as a result and sea-ice extent fell sharply late Sept as it was more tightly constrained (sea-ice there spreads outwards due being wind-blown NOT because it’s colder).
CO2 provides a backstop for the GHE such that temps will not fall away completely and WV precipitate out as snow and not return to the atmosphere (ice-ball Earth).
Learn some meteorology.
Climate is a weather trend lasting at least 30 years. This qualifies as climate cooling. But, it’s still a very short time span.
That isn’t how physics works. CO2 absorbs and emits only one narrow band relevant to temperatures, 13 to 18 microns, 15-micron peak. If you are going to point the finger at CO2, you have to explain how increasing CO2 by 30% resulted in no warming. If you maintain CO2 constant for 1,000 years, you don’t expect temperature variation due to CO2. It is the change that matters, not the time. Facts are CO2 has increased by a sizable amount and there has been no warming. This is the only field of science that ignores physics and focuses on time not change. Change CO2 you change W/M^2, time doesn’t matter.
