The UN IPCC AR5 completely neglected discussing the reason why we have climate to begin with: THE SUN. There’s a reason why they did.
I’m pleased to say that Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt’s and Sebastian Lüning’s climate skeptic book “The Neglected Sun” is NUMBER 1 in several categories at Amazon.uk!
Of course, The Neglected Sun is not yet at the top of the charts overall, but it’s way up from a couple of days ago. Now with the AR5 report out, this book is more timely than ever. Pick up some extra copies for Christmas presents.
You can purchase it in paperback at the really great price of £9.09.
The book looks at all climate factors and doesn’t gloss over anything. There’s a reason why the IPCC avoids the sun – they’re scared to death of it. Lüning and Vahrenholt explain why.
And you’ll understand why Fritz Vahrenholt had to get a bodyguard and why the two authors became the German science establishment’s and climate activism’s most feared and disliked dissidents.
Good news. I am reading it now and I like what I see so far.
I had some knowledge gaps before I read the book, and it really filled in those gaps. Like I say, it doesn’t gloss over or play favorites with any factors, and rightfully comes to the conclusion that the sun indeed plays a major role that cannot be neglected and that CO2 is totally over-rated. The chapter about the models I found really interesting. There was a lot of hanky panky in the models. You can just picture what these modelers were trying to do.
“And you’ll understand why Fritz Vahrenholt had to get a bodyguard”
Ah, Linke SA (Antifa) probably.

“SPM in a nutshell: Since we started in 1990 we were right about the Arctic, wrong about the Antarctic, wrong about the tropical troposphere, wrong about the surface, wrong about hurricanes, wrong about the Himalayas, wrong about sensitivity, clueless on clouds and useless on regional trends. And on that basis we’re 95% confident we’re right.”
My copy arrived yesterday. So far I am disappointed. I was hoping to learn why and how carbon dioxide is considered a ‘heat trapping agent’ in the atmosphere. It seems the effects of carbon dioxide may not be that bad because the temperature is not rising as predicted. I ask you, is that science? I have many arguments that show carbon dioxide is mostly a cooling agent in the atmosphere. Where it can and does warm, under sunshine conditions only, it is shielding the surface. But then I am just a layman. But I know when I am being conned!
Richard111,
Thanks for your comment. As co-author of the book I want to encourage you to keep on reading. You will not find a chapter with mathematical formulas where we prove or disprove the warming or cooling effect of CO2. We argue mostly with historical and geological data which clearly show that natural climate factors always played a key role in pre-industrial times, hence also today. Interestingly, we have not found any hard evidence for CO2 having been a climate driver in the past…. Therefore we say that half the warming of the last 150 years could be man-made at most. This is a maximum value. It could also be that CO2 has not been involved at all or only marginally in the warming we have seen.
Cheers
Sebastian
The only thing that matters, is the climate sensitivity to carbon dioxide, of which the IPCC has admitted now, that they don’t have a clue. If the IPCC prophets tell you for the fifth time, after secret negotiations during several nights, that the planet is warming and that the present cooling is due to heat absorption by the deep oceans, whereas a warming of the oceans cannot be observed at that depth, you should rationally set the climate sensitivity at about zero. Because the estimates in the literature decline into the direction of that number, I would bet that it is about zero as it usually is for fake phenomena. Probably, I will not live long enough to see whether my bet comes true. By the way, has Pierre already explained why Vahrenholt needs a bodyguard?
Here in Germany, the state uses AntiFa (Black Bloc ; Autonome) to silence critics. Just a few days ago, an “Autonomes Centre” in Cologne was cleared – the Leftist fascists got a new one financed by the local Sparkasse, a public bank! When the police inspected the old one they found lethal traps (doors prepared to be set under current; steel pipes sharpened for use as lancets). The state attorney refused to indict them – preparation for murder is not illegal!
Like the Greenshirts, the AntiFa always works for the goals of the EU. (destruction of national states; silencing any real opposition)
Excellent news. Now if only it could climb the next 706 places, wouldn’t that be something. Perhaps I should buy 3 copies of it and send them to Merkel, Obama, Cameron.
Ordering my copy and really looking forward to reading it!
I’m about a third of the way through. Interestingly, though written in isolation with no collaboration, many of the points are the same as made in Fred Singers alternative report
I suspect you’re in the temperature chapter by now. The best is yet to come with the chapter on the IPCC. The science is what it is. Unsurprisingly the logical conclusions drawn by two completely independent, objective scientists will be similar: CO2 is wildly exaggerated.
I see my review of the book has been accepted by Amazon.uk
I finished the book last night, you are right the last third of the book is the most interesting…
Now I have the to dive into all the interesting links and footnotes, that in itself is going to be so much fun.
