The “World’s Dumbest Energy Policy” Just Got Dumber…The Frightening Race To Reset By World War

Just when we thought leaders couldn’t possibly screw things up more…now Europe faces a massively crippling energy shock and the German Chancellor closes pipeline…NATO’s frightening race to war with Russia.

The inflation rate in Germany stood at +4.9% in January, 2022. In December 2021, it had been +5.3% when it reached its highest level in almost 30 years.

Chart: Destatis.

Soaring energy costs

The main inflation driver for Germany is energy, which in January saw an increase of 20.5% year on year.

According the the the Federal Statistical Office, motor fuel prices jumped 24.8% and household energy prices 18.3%, year on year. The price of home heating oil rose a whopping 51.9%, natural gas up 32.2% and electricity +11.1%.

The steep price rise for energy products was affected by several factors: 1) the CO2 charge that increased from 25 euros to 30 euros per metric ton of CO2 at the beginning of the year and 2) higher electricity prices.

Escalating to war

Now worries are growing that the situation Europe is about to get a lot worse.

Earlier today Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany was suspending the approval process for the Russian-German Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline – which means it cannot go online. The pipeline was built to be a major supply line to meet Germany’s energy needs as the country takes nuclear and coal power plants offline.

“55% of Germany’s natural gas demand is met by Russia’s Gazprom. Gas storage facilities in the country are currently only 31% full,” reports Disclose.tv.

2000 euros for 1000 cubic meters of gas

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chair of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, reacted with a forceful tweet to the German move:

Nuclear superpowers’ mad race to world war

All signs point to an escalating Ukraine conflict that threatens to fly out of control, possibly unleashing a World War between nuclear super-powers Russia and NATO.

It’s reported: “NATO has put more than 100 fighter jets on high alert, and 120 allied ships are underway in what Stoltenberg called ‘the most dangerous moment for European security in a generation.'”
Stock up everyone. it’s not looking good. We’re being run by dangerous, reckless madmen.

The world is topsy-turvy at the moment. There already is a NordStream 1 gas pipeline running – is was put in place and then delayed for 4 years by green protests.

So you might think that NordStream 2 will also be delayed. Therefore announcing its ‘closure’ does not actually cost Germany anything. And when the invasion scare dies down the pipeline can be reopened as a political gesture – probably in a lot less time than 4 years.

S closing it and linking that closure to Russia might actually get it working faster….

As Pepe Escobar wrote, the New Multipolar World was born with the twins of Donetsk and Lugansk.
The Unipolar Rules-based Order is over.
As China and Russia said recently, replaced with a Law based Order.

Trump said the Russian declaration of independence of these 2 new republics was genius, savvy.

Meanwhile NordStream2 was put on hold, again. There is no way Qatar and US LNG can possibly replace this supply.

The EU did not get the Multipolar Memo yet, and no doubt are scurrying – every response looks dumber than the last.

But hey, childbirth can be quite dramatic!

“Trump said the Russian declaration of independence of these 2 new republics was genius, savvy.”

Umm… I’ve seen this quote multiple times this morning, and in none of the instances was a link provided. I regard it as fake, since this is what PDJT actually said on his own web site yesterday regarding this situation:

“If properly handled, there was absolutely no reason that the situation currently happening in Ukraine should have happened at all. I know Vladimir Putin very well, and he would have never done during the Trump Administration what he is doing now, no way! Russia has become very very rich during the Biden Administration, with oil prices doubling and soon to be tripling and quadrupling. The weak sanctions are insignificant relative to taking over a country and a massive piece of strategically located land. Now it has begun, oil prices are going higher and higher, and Putin is not only getting what he always wanted, but getting, because of the oil and gas surge, richer and richer. The U.S. was energy independent under the Trump Administration, an independence that we had never obtained before, and oil prices would have remained low. Now, what a mess our Country is in!”

So, you took a snip-it of a conversation from an interview he did and didn’t even bother to put it into context?
This is the level of competence we must endure? Is this the kind of thought process people on the left really have?
Yes! It was genius and savvy what Mr. Putin did. Everything Trump said in that clip was spot on and if you would have actually listened to it objectively, you would have heard him say how bad we are for not having a response to that declaration made by Mr. Putin and that we are in a sad state because of our potato in chief currently occupying the white house and the weak stance we have taken when it comes to China, Russia and Iran.
Mr. Trump was right in also saying this would not have happened if he was still in office. It is because of the instability our current western leaders exude as to why we are in this mess. The US, Canada, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, etc. all show weakness and Russia and China and Iran are simply brushing us off. We are all heading head-long into full blown dictatorships (See Australia and Canada) and you want to point fingers at Trump?
This whole thing seems to be orchestrated in part by our very own leaders and for what? We, the people are suffering and because they want to measure their manhood to show that they can bluster more than the next guy? It is insanity that we got to this point and instead of blaming the current crop of idiots running this world, you want to continue to show your TDS. How crazy are people to still have Trump living rent free in their minds. Inflation has skyrocketed, prices are out of control, energy is becoming scarce and super expensive, supplies are dwindling and world leaders are telling us how we should live our lives as minimalist as possible and to get used to it and the constant tracking and lockdown of the common citizen as normal and you want to prove that Trump said something? Well, good for you! Congratulations. You really showed the Snowman how wrong he was.
God help us if this escalates into a war.

Romeo, you beat me to it, but basically you hit all the nails square on the head. PDJT was NOT “praising” vlad – far from it, but the professional liars in the media and elsewhere fabricated that “detail” so that they can self-quote their own headlines later. PDJT’s verified statement that I provided earlier makes everything quite clear.

PDJT was noting that vlad (a cunning peasant who knows how to play a weak hand well – hey, did *I* just “praise” vlad? Far from it, continue reading) has once again played the dessicated idiots who are now the “leaders” of the “western countries” for the fools that they are.

A good analysis of what both PDJT said AND how the professional liars lied about it can be found here:

Having problem digesting – Budweiser recommended. Potato chips help.
Putin showed savvy intelligence – he clearly said no matter what Russia does, sanctions will follow. The objective being to destroy Russian economics.
So now, suck it up folks – the new Multipolar World is in swing.
I actually hope D.C. will regroup and re-think the insane confrontationism. As some Brit said, the US always does the right thing, after exhausting all other options.

        2. Gary Hemminger

Yes, it is clear he said that. but that doesn’t mean he is supporting Putin’s moves. Don’t you think Putin has played the west like a fiddle? Seems to me like he has. The West going anti-fossil fuel and Putin knows it. So he drives oil prices up like mad and the west is too stupid to start producing more fossil fuels. I could have called this a year ago. Trump is wrong though. Putin isn’t a genius, Biden and the West are simply idiots who don’t understand the geopolitical ramifications of their anti-fossil fuel programs.

          1. bonbon

Come on guys, Trump always said getting along with Russia is a good thing – hence Russiagate.
Are ye the the last fossils of Russiagate? See Rachel Maddow for therapy.
Trump got it exactly – he knows President Putin, you do not.

It is worth investigating and very carefully weighing the very intimate relationship of environmentalist belief and policies to the tenets of national socialism – that is, to anti-human, hierarchical, authoritarian governance. Here are three scholarly books exploring the history of this combination in 20th-Century Germany. It applies no less to any collectivist political movement past or present. The books are:

Nazi Oaks: The Green Sacrifice of the Judeo-Christian Worldview in the Holocaust, by R. Mark Musser (Dispensational Publishing 2017)

How Green Were the Nazis? Nature, Environment, and Nation in the Third Reich, Bruggemeier, Cioc and Zeller, editors (Paperback Ohio University Press, United States, 2006)

The Green and the Brown a Study of Conservation in Nazi Germany (Studies in Environment and History), by Frank Uekoetter (Cambridge University Press, 2006)

Am I wrong in thinking the Master Plan (O’Bama’s – not that potato puppet ) is to increase the cost of real grown up energy to such a level as to make windmills economic?

German idiots, dig coal, shut down the pipelines. If we can’t find enough LNG carriers, we’ll build more. Enough of Putin’s BS.
