China’s Projected CO2 Emissions

In my last post I wrote about China’s aggressive, yet legitimate, expansion of its energy supply. I wonder what the western climate hand-wringers think about the following graphic? Will they ask China about this in Cancun?

My bet is that they’re going to ignore it and focus instead on USA’s and Europe’s emissions.

What I find particularly entertaining is that even if the USA did cut its CO2 emissions by 2o% by 2030 (to about 4.7 million tons annually), Chinese growth would wipe out the savings in just 1o years (2020) or less.

Germany wants to put its entire country through economic hardship to reduce its CO2 emissions by 30% by 2020. That’s a drop of about 250 million tonnes. China’s growth would wipe out the alleged benefit of that in just a matter of months.

And if small countries like Canada, Australia,  Denmark or New Zealand all make their cuts, China’s emissions growth will offset their reductions in a matter of days or hours.

100 km traffic jam in China in its 9th day:

“Vehicles, mostly lorries bound for Beijing, are backed up for about 100km (62 miles) because of heavy traffic, road works and break-downs.”
“The motorway, part of the Beijing-Tibet expressway, is heavily used by lorries carrying coal from Inner Mongolia.”

    Can’t repeat this often enough:
    –A green planet results from a CO2-fertilized atmosphere, not a CO2-starved atmosphere.
–We became close to catastrophe several million years ago, with atmospheric CO2 low enough to threaten all but sea life (<150
    ppm kills plant life).
–When CO 2 was 5 to 20 times current the planet was nearly all green, pole to pole. Diversification enhanced, deserts were few.
–“Peak Lithium” for batteries -demand will soon increase cost, long before oil shortages occur.
–“Peak Neodymium” (rare earth for motor magnets) –China has 95% of the resource and has already started limiting exports.
Appears more critical than Oil Independence.

Green renewable/sustainable energy does not exist.
Everything is carbon (fuel) based as is all life on the planet.
Banning carbon is banning humanity and human civilization.
The over paid EU Government Apparatchik's who are going to cost us 1 billion Euro's on pensions alone and who allow China and the UN to rob us blind, see http://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/08/24/the-biggest-environmental-scandal-in-history/ are obviously to stupid to understand these realities.
There is no clearer message than this and we better hurry to stop the clouless zealots or we're all speaking Russian and Chinese under Party Rules.
