   If you want a Bell weather, look at Baltimore, MD in the USA. An injury that resulted in the death of a young black man back in 2015 led to Riots, Which resulted prosecution of several officers (all acquired or charges dropped) but policing became much less aggressive in crime riddled neighborhoods. The murder rate jumped 50% (By more than 100 people per year) and it’s stayed at that level for 5 years. Most victims are young black men. Baltimore seemed to have learned something because protest after the death of George Floyd were mostly peaceful. Today, Baltimore passed and signed into law a 5% reduction in the police budget. If the city goes from the second highest to the highest murder rate in the USA you’ll know why.

   Defunding is one thing – look at Scott Ritter’s article over at Consortium News for some real insight on what is happening. Cops walking out as a defunding protest? Something more is going on.
   Also there is JAG Major Todd E. Pierce’s article on Chicago in 2015.

   Since 9/11 it is often said and well documented that the USA has become a police state.
