Shocking Surprise At Munich E-Car Charging Stations: Electricity Prices To Surge 81%… “Total Madness!”

As energy and electricity prices surge — in large part due to Germany’s messy transition to renewable energies — electric car owners are getting the price shock of their lives at e-car charging stations.

Munich e-car owners to getting zapped by charging station price shocks.

This is especially true in the Bavarian city of Munich, where the Stadtwerke München municipal utility announced it will significantly boost the price of electricity by up to a whopping 81 percent, a number of German media outlets have reported.

DC fast charging 69 cents/kwh

“At the AC charging stations, the electricity price will rise from 38 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) to 49 cents per kWh, while at DC fast charging stations the amount will jump from the current 38 cents per kWh to a whopping 69 cents per kWh,” the Munich online daily Merkur here reports.

“The current rates will remain in effect until the end of March, after which the charging cards of the municipal provider will lose their validity,” the Merkur.de added. “The last increase by Münchner Stadtwerke took place three years earlier, in April 2019.”

“Total madness”

“A price increase of 28% (AC) or 81% (DC) is already brutal. That’s no longer an adjustment, it’s brutal,” described one consumer.

According the online Bild daily here, Bavarian CSU parliamentary group leader and e-car driver Manuel Pretzl expressed his displeasure over the development: “This is total madness. You can’t destroy the cost advantage of e-cars. At home, electricity costs around half!”

Ironically, Manuel Pretzl sits on the supervisory board of the Münchner Stadtwerke municipal utility, Bild reported.

You all understood that the loss of tax revenue from oil powered cars would have to be made up by electric cars. No one ever promised lower taxes.

“At home, electricity costs around half!”

Then you’d better get used to slow charging at home – and if that isn’t fast enough for the mileage you normally do….tough!!!

Meanwhile, on the other side of the Atlantic, Maine households are struggling with an 89% increase in the standard rate component of their electricity bills;-( Imagine how much that hurts homes using heat pumps–a device that actually helps the environment!!

Reasons for the 89% increase include:
    1) A tightening balance between electricity supplies & demand–caused by impediments to operating & building thermal electricity generators.
    2) Higher natural gas prices–caused by White House policies
    3) Provisions for more solar panels, wind turbines & the transmission line capacity they need.

A 50 kwh battery will cost 34.50 USD or euros to fully charge the battery at a charging station. You’ll only need 20 kwh, so it will be 14 dollars or Euros, whichever applies.

10 kwh consumed in one hour, 62 miles, 100 kilometers, two hours to go 124 miles. A 300 mile range for five hours of driving, cutting it close.

12 cents per mile to charge 20 kwh to the battery.

There is a real threat that a lithium battery can dead short and have a thermal runaway, the electric vehicle will auto-immolate.

A ship full of vehicles caught fire somehow, it is suspected that an EV is the culprit located in the cargo bay on board the ship.

Fires from battery failures have been happening in EVs since the things have been on the road.

EVs are a clear and present danger.

Apparently, Russia is going to rectify Ukraine’s prodigal son indiscretions and let Nikita rest in peace.

Ukraine is being ‘de-nazified’ as we speak.

Humanity needs to settle down, take it easy.
