Today I present to you the latest wonderful example of tolerance and open-mindedness from fundamentalist warmist site klimabedwetter.de here in green nutsy Germany.
Nowadays it’s hard to tell what the alarmists are more petrified of: the global climate catastrophe or the skeptic invasion in Europe. They are angry and panicked that the skeptics have succeeded in getting the public in Europe to question the dubious climate science.
It helps to recall that the klimaretter website is run by devout climate catastrophe alarmists who absolutely can’t live without the imminent threat of the end of the world. Don’t take my word for it, all you have to do is read their site. Of course, you may ask how anyone could possibly get so psychologically obsessed with and insistent about the end of the world? I’m afraid you’ll have to ask a psychiatrist that question.
You can be pretty sure that when December 21 passes many of the disappointed Mayan calender kooks are going to be hitching their wagons to the next best thing: the coming global climate catastrophe. But don’t try to tell them that it’s just another hoax. Good news on climate is like holy water to the devil.
I witnessed this first hand at a press conference when a klimabedwetter went into emotional seizures when Fritz Vahrenholt and Sebastian Lüning introduced their book Die kalte Sonne telling us that there wasn’t going to be a climate catastrophe after all. “Sorry – now go home and do something worthwhile for a living.” That good news was simply too much for the warmists in the audience to take.
So without further ado, here’s the latest spread-the-hate piece by klimabedwetter.de. It’s about the drive-by journalism hit on skeptics by weekly Die Zeit:
The unscrupulous schemes used by certain circles of business and politics to manipulate public opinion on climate change and renewable energies are revealed by a report by Die Zeit: “The Climate Warriors”. It exposes the crusade of these ideologically blinded deniers in horrifying detail. It is really shocking how professional PR strategists, with the help of lots of money and self-anointed climate experts, are hounding renowned scientists. It is of great worry that these well-paid ‘experts’ have in the meantime gotten gotten attention in Europen. Their crude claims have not only been picked up by the major dailies and talk shows, but also by the German parliament.
It is essential for us all to take a stand against these demagogues and to publicly denounce their unscrupulous schemes.
Die Zeit performed an exemplary service here. I really would like to see more of such detailed researched articles.”
What does this tell us about the warmists in Germany? Gandhi says it the best in a nutshell: First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win.
The skeptics in Europe have made it to step 3 in almost record time. I suspect step 4 will the accomplished even more quickly.
And, appropriately, here are Ghandi’s seven sins:
Wealth without work. Pleasure without conscience. Knowledge without character. Commerce without morality. Science without humility. Worship without sacrifice. Politics without principle.
Sin has always led to downfall. It won’t be any different this time.

PG: Many thanks for making this (and many other) translations. Like the last piece from Die Zeit, the phrasing seems quite demented and even to “believers” must strike them as, at the very least, bizarre.
‘ I suspect step 4 will the accomplished even more quickly.’ That depends on what you call winning. Scientifically, AGW is falsified. It is a dead theory that cannot make more than fifty percent correct predictions. But remember that Hitchcock movie about the guy who kept with him his dead mother as if she was still alive. This may go on for years ( I have to admit that I like horror movies).
“Nowadays it’s hard to tell what the alarmists are more petrified of: the global climate catastrophe or the skeptic invasion in Europe. ”
It is, and has always been, skeptics.
We are perceived as dangerous, as we recognize that this scam is for the same reasons as all scams –
Money and Power.
For many of them their livelihood depends on ongoing catastrophism. Solar panels and related products, WInd turbines and all the parts of them, Electric cars are all unneeded when catastrophism collapses.
20 billion Euros of subsidies a year is the order of magnitude that Germany moves around in the name of catastrophism, NOT COUNTING the cost of Kyoto carbon credits, nuke phase out, construction of new transmission lines only neeeded to connect remote wind turbines.
So, I think we can say at least 1 percent of GDP is moved in the name of catastrophism.
The catastrophists are very pleased with their success. And they want more. It is their way of earning money. It is free taxpayer money. They are the most successful rent-seekers of the last 60 years.
…and they have Hollywood billionaire pr opaganda makers on their side indoctrinate the public so that they continue to elect rent seekers into office…
This is billion dollar/Euro business, aiming for trillions.
Those subsidies are somebody else’s money; as long as you’re rubbing shoulders at the trough.
Exploiting selfishness and short-sightedness, the process is in place to destroy. Stage 1 of Stalin’s strategy. A ferpect fit for Willenbacher’s yearning for a planned economy.
There is no prospect of change but for the worse as long as the press are largely partisan, complicit instruments of destruction. The “new media” are vulnerable because apparently; anything goes.
Academics work hard trying to silence those with differing opinion as being mentally ill or intellectually deficient
“Entrepreneurs” such as Willenbacher use new media to feed the subsidy cow for so that they can milk it.
I’d like to have a peek in his larder at the end of January to see what local, seasonal “bio-produce” he’s enjoying. Soylent Green?
Funny. One commenter there:
“Jonathan Borwein (Jon)
Laureate Professor of Mathematics (Laureate Professor of Mathematics at University of Newcastle)
.Stephen: thanks for this excellent series.”
Strip him off his degree. He has not understood mathematics, otherwise he would not defend the pseudoscience of using GCMs to simulate the Earth’s climate a 100 years into the future.
GCM’s work perfectly in a deterministic world. One where weather forecasts are accurate 28 to 36,000 days in advance.
Alas, our world is stochastic. And the models fail to have any worthwhile predictive quality; often within 48 hours. An “educated guess” performs better … because it’s understood to be a guess.
Everything the Warmists say these days is pure psychological projection.
As they say: “If you want to know what a ‘liberal’ is worrying about, see what they are accusing you of.”
“Warmists”? Oh you mean scientists and people who accept science. You’re upset because credence isn’t given to creationists and flat-earthers? LOL
